Drake & Trey Songz Consider A Collaborative Album
After “Successful” lived up to its name, and other collaborations followed, Drizzy and Songz may be headed down the path blazed by R. Kelly & Jay-Z.
2Pac had Danny Boy. Jay-Z had R. Kelly. Ghostface Killah had Carl Thomas. As Drake begins his ascent to one of Rap’s biggest stars of the new decade, he’s proven to have found a crooning peer in Trey Songz. The Toronto and Virginia connect struck a hit in last year’s “Successful”
, before following suit on “I Invented Sex,” “Unusual,” all appearing on Songz’ albums.
Speaking with VIBE.com in an interview published yesterday, Trey Songz now says that the duo may explore full-length collaborations, with Drake already encouraging it. “He said he’s ready,” said Trey. “I think it’s all about when the people want it. I don’t think people are ready for that yet.” Elaborating, the Atlantic Records star said, “It’s all about placement. We could be much bigger stars when we do that. It’s all about the success we attain individually.”
Both stars are presently in the Top 20 of the sales charts. Yesterday, HipHopDX reported that Trey Songz’ Passion, Pain & Pleasure is at #7, clearing over 300,000 units, while Drake’s platinum Thank Me Later official debut is at #20.

Its like you read my mind! You appear to know a lot about this, like you wrote the book in it or something. I think that you can do with a few pics to drive the message home a little bit, but instead of that, this is fantastic blog. An excellent read. I’ll definitely be back.
